School of Medicine Alumni Scholarship

Emory School of Medicine offers students an unparalleled educational and clinical experience. From their first lecture, students receive valuable opportunities to learn from a wide range of world-class physician-scientists and health professionals. Your support allows Emory students to work with practicing physicians serving a variety of patient populations. Trained in clinical exam methods and innovative science, students are also taught to understand the socio-cultural complexities and influences that affect the health of individuals.

School of Medicine Alumni Scholarship Fund: To continue providing the highest quality care, the School of Medicine Alumni Scholarship fund is used to support Emory School of Medicine's recruitment of the best students and trainees from all ethnic, cultural, and experiential backgrounds - regardless of their financial situations. With gifts to the Alumni Scholarship Fund, you ensure that Emory can recruit and support talented students from all economic backgrounds through their medical school journeys.

R. MAX CORNLEY 18C 20PH 25M

Max Cornely is a fourth-year medical student in the Class of 2025: "I am actively involved as a student leader in The Council for the Advancement of Black Voices in Medical Education, while also serving on multiple administrative committees in the School of Medicine addressing anti racism and medical education. As a first-generation Haitian immigrant, I am dedicated to addressing health inequities in marginalized communities and hope to remedy them after graduating. With the help of this scholarship, I have been able to fulfill my aim of servitude to these communities even as a medical student. My efforts were recognized when I was awarded the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Herbert W. Nickens Medical Student Scholarship Award; presented to five students nationally based on health equity innovations in medical education. I am honored to receive this scholarship and would like to thank the generous donors. My success and service work would not have been possible without your financial support and contributions. With this appreciation, I will practice conscientious medicine as a physician-ally one day. I am grateful for your thoughtful generosity in supporting my graduate medical education. Without donors such as yourself, I would not be able to pursue my dream of being an advocate for equity in healthcare as a future physician."
