As we define our role within Emory University and the greater Atlanta community, we recognize the vital importance of accessibility and inclusion. The Carlos Museum, often seen as a hidden gem, has faced challenges of perception—tucked away in a small corner of Atlanta, it can seem difficult to reach and costly to enjoy. However, we are committed to breaking down these barriers and transforming the museum into a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space for all.
This past year, we made significant strides in accessibility:
- 6,507 K-12 students participated in 193 tours during the school year
- 183 teachers, who collectively educate over 40,000 students, attended our educator programs
- Over 45 dedicated volunteer docents led our tours, sharing their passion and knowledge
With your support, 2O36 will further eliminate barriers to admission, grant access for more K-12 students, and invite the community to forge deeper connections with the Carlos Museum. Your generous contribution to the Michael C. Carlos Museum Fund for Excellence opens doors for everyone, ensuring that more people can experience the museum’s rich collection and vibrant programs.
