We are the APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) Alumni Network. We serve as an extension of the student APIDA group at the College, so that students can continue to have a network of those with shared experiences even after graduation. We are building an inclusive community where APIDA alumni connect, share, and celebrate their culture, while supporting local businesses.
The Office for Racial and Cultural Engagement empowers students to examine the construction of racial identities and create active learning communities that enhance opportunities for cultural engagement. Gifts help support belonging and community building events for undergraduate and graduate students of color through peer mentoring, heritage month events, and student-led programs for the Emory community.
Diversity and Inclusion Programming - The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI), guided by Emory's Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer, Dr. Carol E. Henderson, creates spaces for faculty, staff, and students to work and learn in inclusive, equitable, and diverse environments where they thrive and bring their whole selves to our campus community. Your gift to the Diversity and Inclusion Programming fund will support additional diversity and inclusion programming sponsored by ODEI in collaboration with other campus partners.
Ethics and Servant Leadership (EASL) - The Ethics and Servant Leader Summer Internship program provides students with an intensive and structured hands-on experience for three months each summer. Our program has grown, both in reputation and number of applicants, and we face the challenge of limited program acceptance for qualified and deserving students. We depend on the power of gifts from people like you to ensure our students can access life-changing experiences - regardless of their financial resources - and create positive change in the world.
We threw our first ever event earlier this year -- a Buford Highway food tour that successfully brought together over 8 businesses at the Chamblee City Chambers. We were only able to do this through a collaboration with MARTA for transportation. This event was the successful start of connecting Emory into the local community on multiple levels.
