Oxford College Farm

The Oxford College Farm provides good food to our campus and community while providing an educational resource for our students. Students benefit from a wide variety of experiences on the farm from academic research and class visits to work experiences and pizza parties.

Each summer we select students for our internship. They get a work experience and total behind-the-scenes look at how the organic farm operates. We are fundraising to support this program and enhance the educational experience with additional farm visits and workshop/field day opportunities.

Students gain so many things from their summer farm internships. Besides the work experience, they gain a fuller understanding of what it takes to operate a certified organic farm. Not just hard work: also the dynamic management and depth of knowledge needed as challenges arise during the season. Grit is one thing that is difficult to teach and can be learned by students during our summer internship. One student in 2023 described her process of being challenged by the work and overcoming that challenge to be quite successful that summer.

Help us also celebrate 10 years of the Oxford College Farm. Join us Saturday, October 26 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. for tours, live music and food.
