Italian Studies Program

Over the years, the Italian Studies Program at Emory has continued its tradition of excellence through its academic offerings, extracurricular initiatives, and efforts to promote a sense of community. We take pride in upholding the tenets of inclusivity and diversity throughout our curriculum, research, and community endeavors. The annual Sustainable Food Fair – a student-run event promoting sustainable food practices – and the "Fellini and Fantasy" exhibition hosted at the Carlos Museum in 2022 are just a few examples of our program's impact on our students and the Emory and Atlanta communities.

We are asking for your support to help us succeed, specifically to create an "Italian Language and Culture Acquisition" award that recognizes students for their outstanding achievement in first- and second-year Italian and a scholarship for low-income students majoring or minoring in Italian who want to participate in the summer study abroad program in Bologna.

The Italian Studies Faculty are award-winning teachers with a creative interdisciplinary focus, including Italian American Studies, Film and New Media, Feminism, Queer Theory, Food Studies, Mediterranean Studies, and Italy in a global world. We aim to continue to improve our contributions inside and outside the classroom.
