The Office of Global Strategy and Initiatives shapes Emory's international engagement through strategic partnerships, programs, collaborations, resources, and services. We bring the world to Emory, and we share Emory with the world.
For 2O36 Giving Week, we are highlighting the following funds:
Global Student Travel Support helps to expand equitable access to global education for all students. Gifts to this fund can support the Emory Free Passport Initiative which covers the costs of U.S. passports and global travel expense fees for a limited number of Emory students receiving financial aid.
International Student & Scholar Programming (ISSP) provides comprehensive programming, support, advocacy, education, and immigration services for international students and scholars, enabling Emory’s international community to flourish.
Emory Ethiopia Programs – Established in 2010, the Emory University Ethiopia Country Office has implemented more than 25 projects focused on maternal, newborn, and child health and nutrition; water, sanitation, and hygiene; and health systems strengthening. Emory Ethiopia leverages partnership with government and universities, clinical training and mentorship, community outreach, and low-cost interventions to improve the outcomes of mothers, babies, and children across Ethiopia. More than 15 million pregnant women, newborns, and children have benefit from Emory Ethiopia programs, and its leadership promoting practices such as Kangaroo Mother Care with have helped improve newborn survival practice across Ethiopia and beyond.
