Thank you for considering the Arts at Emory in your Day of Giving philanthropic plans. Please read below to explore the opportunities that we are highlighting which enhance the student experience here at Emory.
Emory Arts: A gift to Emory Arts helps to support and nurture a creative foundation for the next generation of Emory leaders.
Emory Arts supports a wide range of student and faculty projects and research, initiatives, and offers experiences both on and off campus with more than 300 arts events each year. Your support enables opportunities for students to see world-class performances in Atlanta and meaningful contact and hands-on experience with visiting artists to the classroom.
A gift to the Emory Arts Fund also establishes project grants for students which allows them to pursue their own creative work. A recent grant received by alumni Ozzy Wagner 22C gave them the opportunity to produce a fully staged production of a play they developed throughout their college career. The quality of the work lead to Wagner winning the McMullan prize in 2022 which singles out an Emory College graduate that is expected to do extraordinary things on a community, national, and global scale.
Thank you for leading with us by helping Emory Arts make an impact on the student experience in and outside of the classroom.
Schwartz Center for Performing Arts: Celebrating its 20th Anniversary season, the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts has offered a home and central place for Emory performing arts students to learn alongside internationally acclaimed artists. The center's main attraction is the Emerson Concert Hall—an 825-seat concert hall that has welcomed musical performances ranging from a solo recital with pianist Hélène Grimaud to the 100-member New York Philharmonic.
Support for the Schwartz Center benefits community engagement, curricular enhancements, and subsidized performance tickets. These programs nurture the musicians and arts patrons of tomorrow by hosting master classes with professional guest artists for Emory students, ensuring that tickets to all Schwartz Center season performances are available to Emory students for only $10, and establishing partnerships with K-12 schools and community music centers to provide young musicians access to the artists through workshops and performances.
