The Partners in Health Engage Chapter at Emory University is dedicated to mitigating health inequities through advocacy, community building, and fundraising. We motivate Emory students and the local community to work towards the goals set by the broader Partners in Health organization, whose approach incorporates partnerships, systems building, and training to strengthen underserved healthcare systems. By meeting with representatives to discuss healthcare resolutions, initiating seminars and volunteer opportunities for students to learn more about global health issues, fundraising for these causes, and partnering with other universities, we hope to inspire college students to continue spreading awareness about healthcare disparities and see that they have a role in this movement.
We are fundraising for materials in order to propel our community-building events and fundraising campaigns. For instance, some of our upcoming events include a bioethics seminar and Strides in Solidarity, a walkathon to raise awareness about universal healthcare access. For these events, we hope to provide complementary food or other amenities for the speakers and attendees. In addition, we hope that part of our funds may go directly to the Partners in Health organization through the fundraiser for the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda. There, they are training students to become healthcare workers in an area where these professionals are traditionally underrepresented in the workforce.
