The Pathways Center Fund makes it possible for students to prepare for professional paths that integrate what they learn in the classroom with hands-on, high-impact experiences like internships, study abroad and undergraduate research, as well as intentional advising and career services.
Ayaka Smart, 23Ox 25C is an Environmental Sciences and International Studies double major. This summer with funding from the Pathways Center Fund, she gained field-work experience at Cedar Creek Ecosystem Reserve in central Minnesota. Here she is assessing the impact of bison grazing on plant biodiversity. She also measured the effect of climate change on biodiversity, including evaluating plant survival rates as part of a decades-long experiment.
