Youth Theological Initiative

The Youth Theological Initiative (YTI) is a 30-year program dedicated to liberatory youth ministry. YTI offers high school students transformative programs that teach scholarly theological tools, offer opportunities for vocational discernment, and explore the relationship between faith and justice. The program also provides Candler School of Theology and Emory students opportunities to learn and train in innovative youth ministry practices.

Funds raised will go toward scholarships for the YTI Summer Academy, a two-week residential program on Emory's campus. YTI is committed to ensuring that finances are never a barrier to participation in YTI. Your donations are what make this possible.

The following testimony was offered by a parent of YTI scholars: "My kids have found instruction, guidance, and role models through YTI. They have not merely heard stories of courage, they have been inspired by knowing courageous people through the YTI community. They have gained in confidence and in curiosity, and they have learned to be prepared to act on their love of others in meaningful ways. What I am most appreciative of is that instead of holding out a prototype of a "good person" and then championing conformity, YTI champions individuals and supports discovery of strength."
