Emory Law Volunteer Clinic for Veterans

At Emory Law Volunteer Clinic for Veterans, we are dedicated to serving those who have served us. We provide legal assistance to veterans navigating the complexities of VA disability benefits appeals and discharge upgrades. In addition, we stand as a crucial platform for law students, offering them a practical and enriching learning experience. Our dual purpose upholds justice, honors service, and fosters the next generation of compassionate and skilled legal professionals.

We are seeking funding to sponsor our students’ travel expenses for their participation in the esteemed National Veterans Law Moot Court Competition. This opportunity is a significant educational enrichment, yet it is not a regular feature of our clinic due to financial constraints. Your generous support will bridge this gap, enabling our students to garner invaluable experience and exposure in the field of veterans law.

In previous years, the bulk of our clinic’s funding was channeled directly into operational costs. This allocation left valuable initiatives, such as our summer internship program, without financial support, requiring our interns to work unpaid for a significant 12-week period. Thanks to targeted and generous funding since last year, we have successfully transformed our summer internship program. Now, we provide remuneration for the dedicated work of our interns. Offering financial compensation has removed barriers for many aspiring legal professionals, allowing a more diverse group of students to gain practical experience and contribute to veteran advocacy.
