African Student Association

ASA is a student-run organization that provides a community for Emory students (African and non-African) to come together to share their experiences and interests through a comprehensive arrangement of events, informational panels, and more. We aim to raise awareness of social, political, and environmental issues that affect Africa.

Our yearly staple event, Taste Of Africa, is organized by the ASA executive board as a cultural event that pushes African talent, Emory talent, as well as African music, art, and food to the forefront so that people are thrusted into the expansiveness of the continent. Last year, we had 800 people attend our event, with at least 500 attendees being Emory students (undergraduate and graduate), substantially growing from previous years. Additionally, our ticket sales from the event go to a charity base of our choice as a notion towards our philanthropic purpose.
