The purpose of Emory Computer Science Club is to create a close-knit but campus-wide community for Computer Science students, provide opportunity for students to take on programming and development projects, and provide a platform to connect with peers and alumni. Emory Computer Science Club aims to enrich the community by creating a space for Computer Science students to hone their skills and make connections with like-minded people, and developing applications to help the Emory and greater Atlanta community.
We are planning to host multiple 'Leet Code' nights throughout the year, an event where students can come and practice their Leet Code skills which is essential for recruiting and interviews in any CS-related jobs. We are also planning on hosting a Research Panel similar to the one we did last year as it turned out to be a huge success and gave students valuable information on getting involved with research in CS. Another important event that we have planned this year is the Alumni Networking mixer which will aim at connecting our students with alumni who hold a CS degree and work at companies that are recruiting for interns! Even events such as the ReactJS workshop and the CSS + HTML workshop are imperative for adding skills to the students' caliber and skillset as these are not taught in any class at Emory. In order to carry out these events smoothly, we require funds to execute our ideas.
