Emory Global Health Institute

Emory Global Health Institute works at the intersection of education, research, and practice to empower communities and improve global health. Founded in 2006, EGHI achieves impact by cultivating the next generation of global health leaders, connecting global health stakeholders, and sharing Emory’s scientific eminence with the world.

For 2O36 Giving Week, we are highlighting these student programs as giving opportunities:

  • EGHI Field Scholars Awards Program is EGHI’s longest-running student program. Since 2008, more than 400 students have participated in field work with research partners in over 60 countries. From developing ambulance provider courses in Tanzania to evaluating infant feeding toolkits in Malawi, students work in multidisciplinary teams and engage in peer-to-peer collaboration to advance global health equity.
  • Emory Morningside Global Health Case Competition (EMGHCC) is an experiential program that brings together students from multiple disciplines to address a critical global health challenge. The competitive case competition environment requires student teams to work collaboratively to develop solutions designed for health impact and present a business case to an expert panel of judges. Now in its 15th year, EGHI hosts teams from around the world at Emory University to compete in the largest global health case competition in the world.
"I was told this program would be one of the highlights of medical school, and it absolutely lived up to the expectations. I have a new appreciation for the intense research and planning it takes to implement similar health intervention programs in the real world.”  - 2023 EMGHCC Participant

Your gift to these Emory Global Health Institute programs supports Emory students flourishing through our experiential learning and field scholar research programs. EGHI provides students with opportunities to focus on real-world challenges as part of its mission to prepare the next generation of global health leaders.
