Emory's Vietnamese Student Association is a student-led cultural organization whose mission is to spread awareness and knowledge of Vietnamese culture, traditions, language, and values. Our general body membership welcomes anyone regardless of background, and we strive to host events around Emory celebrating Vietnamese food, holidays, and customs. Additionally, we are seeking to connect the Vietnamese communities around the American Southeast through collaborations with our sister chapters at UGA, GT, GSU, and more.
Emory VSA is a thriving, diverse organization with over 100 active members, and given our recent growth after Emory's Club Fair, we have found a greater need for funds to support our student body. Previously, our General Body Meetings (GBMs) have been restricted to a budget of $50-70, and we are seeking to expand this in order to provide more food and other cultural items for our members. We also aim to expand our event offerings within the Emory and surrounding communities beyond our annual gala. Furthermore, our objective is to enhance accessibility to events, particularly for students facing financial constraints. As we look to collaborate with other universities, we want to obtain more funding to provide transportation for our members. This support would enable our members to explore diverse facets of Vietnamese culture at these institutions, further aligning with our mission.
