Candler School of Theology

Your gift to Candler School of Theology will support the next generation of Christian leaders called to ministry and service. Whatever their path—from church ministry to nonprofit service and advocacy—Candler graduates are ready to serve, wherever God leads.

On Emory Day of Giving please give to one or more of these Candler priorities making a Candler education possible for all students called into God’s service.

Theology School Fund for Excellence: Support Candler’s whole mission to educate faithful and creative leaders for the church’s ministries throughout the world.

Jan Love Scholarship Endowment: After nearly 18 years as Candler’s dean, Jan Love will step down from that role this summer. Honor Dean Love and her tireless dedication and service to Candler through your gift to the Jan Love Scholarship Endowment.

Candler Master of Divinity Scholarship Fund: Help provide generous scholarship support to students, so Candler graduates can follow God’s call without the burden of paying off school loans.

Erskine-Smith-Moseley Scholarship Endowment: Give to provide students of Candler’s Black Church Studies Program with valuable scholarships and stipends.

La Mesa Academy: With courses in Spanish, English, and Korean, Candler’s new La Mesa Academy will serve students from diverse cultures preparing to be lay pastors in mainline denominations or ordained ministers in traditions that educate clergy through certificate programs. Your gift will provide scholarships for students to complete La Mesa’s innovative and culturally diverse path to church and community leadership.

Candler Student Emergency Fund: Help assist Candler students experiencing temporary financial hardship, including housing and food insecurity.

Youth Theological Initiative (YTI): Support programs that equip high school students with theological tools that empower them to create positive change in their schools, communities, and the world.

J. Michael Morgan English Bible & Psalmody Collection: Help Candler grow and promote access to the newest of its rare book collections. The Morgan Collection is one of North America’s premier collections of historic English Bibles, psalters, and prayer books, including more than 5,500 volumes dating from the 16th through the 21st centuries. Your donation will support new acquisitions, digitization, exhibitions, and research in the collection.
