La Alianza Latinx is a student-led organization composed of Latinx and Latin American public health students interested in issues affecting the Latinx community at the Rollins School of Public Health, in the metro Atlanta area, throughout the United States, and internationally. We strive to strengthen and build a Latinx community at RSPH by creating a space that enables students to excel academically, professionally, and socially - cultivating the intersectional identities of Latinx students.
By recruiting Latinx prospective students, and bringing Latinx faculty and staff into the classroom, we aim to support mentorship, establish scholarship opportunities, and forge long-lasting relationships with local organizations for the advancement of our community. Any funds we receive are used to uplift educational and professional advancement, promote advocacy efforts for the improvement of Latinx health, and build community at Rollins and beyond. Fostering this growth includes hosting networking events and actively creating community spaces to uplift and celebrate Latinx student accomplishments.
