The Emory Law School Supreme Court Advocacy Program is a nonpartisan, student-run organization whose mission is providing high-quality pro bono representation before the Supreme Court of the United States and to give Emory Law students experience drafting appellate briefs and related filings. ELSSCAP is currently the only student run Supreme Court Advocacy program in the United States. To further this goal, ELSSCAP aims to foster an understanding of emerging issues of law and Supreme Court litigation and give students opportunities to research and draft amicus briefs, related filings, and legal blog publications.
The funds will go towards the publishing costs for submitting amicus briefs and petitions for certiorari as well as financing ELSSCAP's annual DC Supreme Court trip. Every Spring ELSSCAP takes a group of students to DC to observe oral arguments in the Supreme Court. This is a great learning opportunity for our student members.
