The Asian Health Alliance is a mental health advocacy group that strives to breakdown mental health stigma within the Asian community and other communities as well. Our mission is to create an inclusive community from the diverse backgrounds at Emory to promote mental health and wellbeing.
The funds that we receive will go towards free events with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to help facilitate open discussion about how to effectively break down barriers in accessing proper mental health treatment and strategies to employ. Additionally, the funding will aid us in creating a network within Emory and Atlanta organizations to produce a community for students to rely on once graduating and to further spread awareness about mental health stigmatization. Funding will also go towards trainings and events to help students strategize and employ destigmatizing strategies and promote awareness while building a sense of community amongst students.
