The purpose of our organization is to boost access to healthcare, promote environmental protection, and spread awareness of basic health knowledge through an annual, week-long service trip to Guatemala. This way, the work we do is sustainable, and can promote a positive impact for generations to come. We establish several clinics in rural and indigenous Guatemalan communities, allowing us to help over 600 patients and provide over 100 surgeries last year. In addition, we provide health education modules that cover topics such as hygiene, family planning, cancer screening, and STI prevention.
We also install stoves and water filters for rural families, reducing preventable diseases by 40%, caused by open fire cooking, and reducing the rates of deforestation that occurs from families firewood consumption for energy.
We hope to use funds received to help execute fundraising events that will help us raise money toward our trip.
