The purpose of our organization is to teach safe, and proper form and technique in all aspects of weightlifting. We also focus on specific techniques for the sport of Olympic Lifting. The club’s goal is to help people who may feel intimidated or scared of lifting weights, regardless of body type, fitness level, or gender, to learn to lift proficiently and compete in weightlifting competitions. This club looks to engage the student body, both non-athletes and athletes, in safe weightlifting techniques.
We are fundraising to help pay for a new location for club practices. We were previously meeting in the the varsity strength and conditioning weight room in the Woodruff Physical Education Center, however, that space will no longer be available to the club in the coming school year. Without a space to safely lift, the club will no longer be able to function. We greatly appreciate any gifts to help support the future of this organization and our goal of empowering everyone to lift with confidence.
