The Emory Impact Investing Group (EIIG) provides low-interest microloans ranging from $5,000-$15,000 to local entrepreneurs in historically underserved communities. EIIG boasts a student-fundraised loan fund of $200k, supporting 21 entrepreneurs in our portfolio by providing not only crucial capital but also 3 years of personalized pro-bono consulting services and network access. Our mission is to help bridge the micro-business gap and contribute to the sustainable development of these vital local economies.
Funds will go towards providing more loans to small businesses in the Atlanta area, as well as offering free technical and accounting software to our entrepreneurs. This software will equip them with the capability to efficiently store and manage their business financials, leading to substantial time and cost savings, as being able to analyze performance and inform strategic decision-making.
