Emory's Public Interest Committee (EPIC) is a student-led organization at the Emory University School of Law that focuses on creating and providing opportunities for all law students to pursue public interest law. These opportunities include hosting the EPIC Conference in the fall and the Inspiration Awards in the spring. Throughout the year, we support students by involving them in pro bono volunteer events and assisting them in securing unpaid public interest internships and jobs.
EPIC was formed in 1989 by students committed to making public interest jobs accessible to Emory students. EPIC has successfully undertaken a major fundraising effort that has provided summer grants for students who accept volunteer positions or clerkships in public interest organizations. Each grant allows our students to pursue the meaningful work they chose to engage in.
