For Emory Day of Giving, we are highlighting these priority giving opportunities:
Strategic Priorities
A gift to the Nursing Fund for Excellence provides Dean Linda McCauley with the flexibility to invest in strategic priorities and the most immediate needs of the School of Nursing. The Nursing Fund for Excellence is utilized to help with faculty retention and recruitment, student research, and in areas that bring our community together and celebrate our successes.
Nursing Student Assistance Fund
The School of Nursing Student Assistance Fund provides support for students experiencing unforeseen financial difficulty meeting basic or unexpected expenses. A class of 2022 NHWSN graduate shares, “Being many years out from college, I had no idea how much STEM textbooks cost. Add to that all the expenses of a nursing education, including: a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, and other medical equipment; scrubs in the school-approved style and colors, embroidered with the school’s name; decent nursing shoes that would allow me to be on my feet for 12 hour shifts, along with compression stockings; courses for the various certifications I needed as part of my program; and, gas to get from clinical site to clinical site. Programs like The Cabinet* food pantry were crucial for my success. Nursing education should be accessible to all, regardless of financial background.”
*The Cabinet is an initiative of the Nursing Student Assistance Fund that provides students with access to a food pantry and other short-term financial assistance.
Scholarship Support
Your support of the Nursing School Scholarship Fund will open doors to access, intellectual growth, and life-changing opportunities for our students. Scholarship support helps ensure that all qualified students have access to an Emory School of Nursing education, contributing to the next generation of nurse-leaders.
Experiential Learning
The Emory Nursing Learning Center (ENLC) is a 70,000 sq. ft. space that expands the School of Nursing's ability to support nursing education. Your generosity provides the latest in simulation technology and teaching resources that expose our students to practical, cutting-edge experiential learning opportunities.
Groundbreaking Dementia Care
Emory's Integrated Memory Care (IMC) is a nationally recognized nurse-led primary care model that addresses the unique challenges that dementia patients and their care partners face. It is the only nurse-led center of its kind, treating each patient's dementia and other chronic conditions using a palliative care framework and engaging care partners as a key member of the care team.
