HeartStart Emory is a student-led organization at Emory University committed to equipping students and the greater Atlanta community with lifesaving skills. With a team of American Heart Association CPR instructors, the organization has already certified over 200 individuals in CPR and expanded its impact through free Narcan Education and Stop-the-Bleed training sessions. Additionally, the flagship HeartStart CPR Instructor Program ensures a continuous pipeline of skilled trainers, reinforcing the group's long-term commitment to public health education. Through rapid growth, extensive collaborations, and a dedication to accessibility, HeartStart Emory continues to make a meaningful impact, positioning itself as a key resource for emergency preparedness at Emory and beyond.
We are fundraising to make BLS classes as affordable as possible to the Emory community by covering the cost of the American Heart Association (AHA) provider cards required for all participants. Additionally, we want our annual spring CPR instructor certification course to be completely free so the funds raised will cover the cost of the AHA CPR instructor certifications, allowing more people to become certified instructors. By reducing financial barriers, we can ensure more individuals in our community receive essential CPR training and save more lives!
