Emory Pre-Health Latinx for Atlanta is a student-led organization dedicated to raising awareness about the healthcare disparities affecting the Latinx community in Atlanta. The Atlanta community is home to 24,510 latinos and is continuing to grow. The importance of advocating for our community stems from experiences of not knowing when one is sick, the lack of resources or networks of support and above all what it means for it “to be too late.” We are also passionate about empowering Latinx students in their journeys to medical careers—whether it’s nursing, pre-med, pre-PA, or other healthcare fields—by creating a supportive space that fosters growth, advocacy, and leadership within our community.
We are fundraising to purchase essential medical devices, including A1C and blood pressure monitors, and to support student certifications that will allow us to expand our outreach and provide these critical services. With your support, we can equip the next generation of Latinx healthcare leaders while directly improving the health of our community.
