Emory Libraries is home to a rich collection of books, manuscripts and other rare materials. The Libraries’ Exhibitions Team produces a variety of exhibits that reflect the diversity of Emory Libraries' resources and demonstrate the cultural depth of Emory’s academic community. We also collaborate with Emory and community partners by lending our expertise and fabrication abilities for special events and projects.
The Impact of Your Gift
Traveling exhibits allow us to share our collections and the research of scholars with a wider audience. They represent physical exhibitions previously installed in the galleries of Emory Libraries. Funding this program would allow the libraries to digitize materials, build exhibitions, and expand physical installations. Partnerships that the traveling exhibition program develops will deepen Emory Libraries’ engagement with and connection to the community, increase our visibility, and encourage the use of our collections.
This program was piloted at Drew Charter School in Atlanta. Curriculum for the school is provided as well. The exhibit served as a catalyst for reflection and creativity, and for the opening night, the students responded with inspired artwork, dance, an original one-act play and music – including a harp performance, a choral piece and original rap verses. We hope to inspire more students with future exhibitions!
