Master of Divinity Scholarship

For more than a century, Candler School of Theology has educated faithful and creative leaders for the church’s ministries throughout the world. One of 13 seminaries of The United Methodist Church, we are grounded in the Christian faith and shaped by the Wesleyan tradition of evangelical piety, ecumenical openness and social concern. Many of the finest scholars and most innovative practitioners in theological education today are on Candler’s faculty. Our diverse student body is made up of creative, courageous and curious students who are called to join our Christian community to discern, learn, pray, minister, and serve God and the church.

The Impact of Your Gift

Your gift will support Candler’s Master of Divinity Scholarship Fund. Individuals called into ministry often face a significant barrier to receiving their seminary education: the cost of attendance. That’s why increasing scholarship support for MDiv students is an urgent priority for Candler today. Your gift to the MDiv scholarship fund can help make a Candler education more accessible, increasing the number of high-quality, educated clergy who will touch lives with the loving message of the gospel.

Through your support Candler students can flourish and receive a transformational experience that will shape their lives and bring renewed vitality to churches and a healing presence to the communities they serve. Scholarship support gives Candler graduates the freedom to go where they are called without the burden of debt.

As 2022 Candler graduate Co’Relous Bryant says, “Candler was the training ground, the gifts sharpener and the launching pad I needed to head straight into full-time ministry. Scholarships allowed me to have a Candler experience without the fear of financial shackles immediately after graduation.”
