The longstanding mission of Emory Campus Life is to cultivate a welcoming community that allows students to put their education into practice, enhancing their Emory experience beyond the classroom. Your generous support enables us to offer world-class programs and services that foster the growth of students and inspire them to make a positive difference in the world and their communities.
We invite you to make a gift to enhance Emory Campus Life and help us empower students to create positive change in their individual lives, across the Emory campus, and throughout our society.
For Emory Day of Giving, we are highlighting these giving opportunities:
1915 Scholars Program celebrates the heritage and ongoing journeys of students who are the first in their family to attend college by providing informational, academic, and social support through alumni and peer mentoring while encouraging and supporting students’ college aspirations.
Barkley Forum Endowment is a fund which supports Emory’s competitive and nationally ranked debate league. Competitive debate, community outreach, and campus engagement activities all support the holistic development of students, helping them to become leaders who change the world for the better. Barkley Forum pioneered the growth of Urban Debate Leagues (UDLs) in Atlanta Public Schools, as well as expanded into faculty-led outreach programs in 23 cities nationwide as well as internationally.
Civic & Community Engagement Fund supports and prepares students to further develop into global citizens that are socially responsible, critically aware, and meaningfully engaged through our breadth of service opportunities. Some of these programs include Community Building and Social Change Fellows, Graduation Generation, SHINE, Volunteer Emory, and Emory Votes Initiative.
Do Good Fund is open to any student of student organization seeking to provide an act of kindness or goodwill for our Emory Community. It also allows students to request support for academic or personal matters that equip them to “do good” on campus.
Food Security allows consistent access to healthy meals through the office of Student Case Management & Interventions Services (SCMIS). Your gift ensures that the office can continue to purchase groceries to stock the Eagle Food Co-op food pantry, order grocery gift cards to support students in crisis, and provide campus meals to students over school breaks when regular dining is halted.
Office for Racial and Cultural Engagement (RACE) empowers students to examine the construction of racial identities and create active learning communities that enhance opportunities for cultural engagement. Gifts help support belonging and community building events for undergraduate and graduate students of color through peer mentoring, heritage month events, and student-led programs for the Emory community.
Office of LGBT Life seeks to engage the university community in the creation of an affirming and just campus environment while supporting the development of students of all gender and sexual identities. Your gift would help provide financial support for our new Gender Affirming Items Initiative and for our growing number of Queer Discussion Groups that support students at the intersections of identities.
Student Experience Fund will support community-building and class-year traditions that deepen student and alumni engagement with our university. This would create a richer undergraduate experience for the entire campus community. Funding will energize the university community, provide opportunities for all community members to be engaged, and allow for more fun activities on campus. Enhancing support of the student experience will increase our retention rates, graduation rates, student satisfaction, and alumni engagement by building a stronger sense of community and belonging among students.
Wonderful Wednesdays, which is one of Emory’s flagship school spirit organizations that strives to unify the university through creating a space for all student organizations and clubs to have agency for their organization by providing an outlet to advertise, fundraise, recruit, and engage their organizations across campus. Funds raised could enhance the student experience and increase the Emory Community spirit by expanding Wonderful Wednesday After Dark, and Wonderful Weekend opportunities, purchasing t-shirts and other swag items, food, and entertainment.
