Emory Day of Giving is a 36-hour online giving event celebrating everything Emory and offers easy and fun ways to support what inspires you. 

Online giving at dayofgiving.emory.edu kicks off officially at 6 a.m. EDT Wednesday, March 30, and continues through 6 p.m. EDT Thursday, March 31. That's right, this year's Emory Day of Giving will run for 36 hours! 

Your support provides Emory the ongoing resources that are crucial to its growth and success as a world-class institution. Donors help change lives every day with gifts that support academics, research, patient care, scholarship, and service to others. It takes the collective annual support of alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty, and staff to make Emory a great institution. Also it's fun! From matches and challenges to amplify the impact of your gifts to regional and on-campus events with give-a-ways, you will want to be part of this most Wonderful Wednesday of the year.

Because Emory Day of Giving is a time limited giving campaign, we strongly encourage you to make your gift online at dayofgiving.emory.edu. This is the only way to ensure your gift will qualify for matches and challenges that are taking place throughout the campaign. To give by phone, you may call 404.712.GIVE (4483) from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. on March 30 and 31, but we cannot guarantee that gifts made over the phone will count toward matches and challenges.

Please review the participating groups at dayofgiving.emory.edu to find the area that inspires you. From contributing to student scholarships and strengthening academic programs to funding transformational research and supporting innovative patient care, you can make an immediate and lasting difference for Emory. While there are specific funds within each participating group, most groups also have a Fund for Excellence that provides unrestricted resources to help Emory's schools and departments make strategic investments in high-priority areas.

Matching funds and challenges help drive competition among and increase support for participating groups. Matches double your gift to a specific school, unit, or program area. Challenges unlock bonus dollars when a goal is met. Challenge leaderboards are timebound and rank participating groups based on certain criteria, with the top groups earning bonus dollars. Use our digital toolkit and share why you give to Emory using the hashtag #EmoryDayofGiving! During the event, our social media aggregator will be active on dayofgiving.emory.edu to allow you to view real time updates from the Emory community. You can also attend on-campus or regional events and help promote matches and challenges throughout the day to maximize the power of donations. Ready for more? Since 2017, Emory Day of Giving (originally nicknamed All In a Day) has set new records for donor count, online giving, and volunteers engaged annually. The second and third give day events in February 2018 and 2019 each raised over $1,000,000 through 3,400 gifts. The 2020 Emory Day of Giving was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and our fundraising focus was shifted to immediate student need and the Emory Healthcare system. Last year, our virtual only event, raised $874,475 through 3,363 gifts!

Advancement volunteers are Emory’s digital leaders, sharing messages and creating excitement about Emory Day of Giving before and during the campaign. In 2021, Emory had more than 800 volunteers who helped inspire one-third of Emory Day of Giving online gifts! With just a few hours of time, these volunteers help spread awareness—asking their network to give through email, text, direct message, and social media. Volunteers receive insider updates, earn Emory swag, and top fundraisers can win bonus dollars to allocate to their favorite school, unit or program. If you are interested in becoming an advancement volunteer, you can register online or email annualgiving@emory.edu with questions.

All gifts made at dayofgiving.emory.edu count. Early Emory Day of Giving gifts made by the deadlines below will be uploaded to dayofgiving.emory.edu and counted in “top dollars” and “top donors” leaderboards. Gifts via mail must be received by March 25 and use an Emory Day of Giving remit form or reference to Emory Day of Giving to count. Mailed gifts received after March 25 will count toward final Emory Day of Giving campaign totals but we cannot guarantee they will be processed in time to be uploaded to dayofgiving.emory.edu. Gifts made online using a special early giving Emory Day of Giving link will count through March 29. Gifts made through the Donor Engagement Center (student calling program) from March 14 - 29 will count. Gifts made from 6 a.m. March 30 to 6 p.m. on March 31 at momentum.emory.edu will count.

While we greatly appreciate pledges, only gift transactions (credit card or digital wallet payments) count in the Emory Day of Giving campaign.

New for 2022! Each of your Emory Day of Giving online gifts can also help your favorite Emory Network! It’s easy. Make a donation at dayofgiving.emory.edu, and the checkout page will give the option to associate your gift with an Emory Network. Scroll the list to see over 60 participating networks. Each gift you make doubles your impact. First, you strengthen the Emory program you are most passionate about. Second, you help your Emory Network compete for bragging rights and prizes on the Networks Leaderboard.

Select the Department or Program of your choice (i.e. College of Arts and Sciences), then select "Other" in the Fund Designation drop down menu, and type in the program and/or fund name you wish to support (i.e. Biology Department). If you are unsure of the Department or Program, then go to General University, select "Other" in the Fund Designation drop down menu, and type in the program and/or fund name you wish to support. We will ensure your gift is designated appropriately.

New for 2022. The Emory Day of Giving platform accepts the following payment options: credit card and digital wallet options of PayPal, Venmo, and ApplePay. Digital wallet options will only appear if they are set up on your personal device. ApplePay is only available when using Safari as your mobile browser (ApplePay is not available on Chrome or Facebook browsers). Venmo is only available on mobile devices. When making your first Venmo gift, a pop-up will ask you to AGREE to Venmo’s service terms; this happens automatically on iPhone but on android devices, you will need to go to your Venmo app.

All gifts are tax deductible to the extent provided by law. Once you complete your gift transaction, you will receive an email confirmation. This will serve as your official gift acknowledgement and tax receipt from Emory University.

Yes! To do so, click the "+ Add another gift to your donation" link in the Donate section on the giving page.

Your credit card is charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the site. When making a gift with your credit card, be sure to use your billing address and NOT your mailing address. Gifts made via Vemno, Paypal, and ApplePay will also be charged immediately against your account upon finalizing your gift on the site.

Thousands of companies match gifts to higher education, which can double or triple your gift. To find out if your employer (or your spouse's employer) has a matching gift program, visit https://together.emory.edu/matching-gifts. If so, please contact your Human Resources representative for a matching gift form. You may need to provide Emory's Employer Identification Number (EIN) on the form, which is 58-0566256.

Yes. When you make a gift at dayofgiving.emory.edu, gifts are processed through a third-party secure payment processing vendor. The information you provide when you make a gift will be used by Emory University for the purpose of correctly allocating, crediting, and acknowledging your gift. The charge on your credit card statement will appear from EMORY MOMENTUM. When making a gift with your credit card, be sure to use your billing address and NOT your mailing address.
