Cultivating the public health leaders of tomorrow, the Rollins School of Public Health improves health and well-being through excellence in teaching, research, and the application of knowledge in partnership with domestic and global communities. Founded just more than 30 years ago, Rollins has experienced unparalleled growth. Now recognized as one of the world’s leading schools of public health, Rollins strives to be second to none.
For Emory Day of Giving, we are highlighting these giving opportunities:
Rollins School of Public Health Fund for Excellence: Gifts to the Fund for Excellence allow us to provide support to the Dean's priorities, as well as any critical needs.
James W. Curran Endowed Scholarship: The James W. Curran Scholarships are awarded to the school's most outstanding applicants. Gifts made this year honor Dean Curran as he steps down after 27 years of leadership as Dean of the Rollins School of Public Health.
Food Fortification Initiative: The Food Fortification Initiative (FFI) champions effective grain fortification so people have the nutrition they need to be smarter, stronger, and healthier. A third of the world's population is affected by micronutrient malnutrition, which can cause devastating birth defects, impaired brain development in young children, and reduced work capacity among adults. That's why we help countries around the world build self-sustaining programs to fortify staple foods like wheat flour, maize flour, and rice with small amounts of life-saving vitamins and minerals.
GEMMA Faculty Scholar Endowment: Gifts made to the Global Elimination of Maternal Mortality from Abortion (GEMMA) Faculty Scholar Endowment will ensure RSPH students and graduates can engage in vital GEMMA-related public health work for generations to come.
The global pandemic has brought into sharp focus the necessity of a robust, well-trained public health workforce. Our mission—producing knowledge through education and research to improve health on a global scale—has never been more relevant.
