Emory Climate Analysis and Solutions Team (ECAST) brings together undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty from all departments to foster skills around climate analysis and learn about our impact on current and future climate change. ECAST events aim to increase members’ capacity to take action through education and advocacy, and we often collaborate with other campus organizations to address this interdisciplinary topic. ECAST projects involve learning, teaching, collecting, and synthesizing data to fight the climate crisis and empower those in our local and regional community to make a difference for the environment. In the past, we have supported Solar for All, conducted energy audits of buildings in Emory Village, advised companies about how to reduce their energy emissions, and taught an energy efficiency curriculum to local middle schoolers. We are fundraising with the hope of continuing ECAST’s success by increasing advertisement for our initiatives, purchasing supplies for events (including materials to upcycle used clothing!), and offering incentives and rewards to promote sustainable behaviors.
