Winship Cancer Institute
Seeing more than 15,000 newly diagnosed patients each year, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University works to lessen the burden of cancer. Our approach combines outstanding cancer research and education initiatives with significant prevention and supportive care efforts. As Georgia’s National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, Winship is a national leader in investigating new ways to defeat cancer and in translating that knowledge into patient care.
Winship clinician-researchers conducted more than 250 therapeutic clinical trials and enrolled more than 700 patients last year. Winship has the largest unit in Georgia for phase I clinical trials, and it is leading the way by turning discoveries made in its labs into cutting-edge therapies.
As part of a long-standing tradition, patients look forward to ringing a special bell in our infusion and radiation oncology centers when they finish their treatment at Winship. Your support helps Winship create comprehensive programs that will impact tens of thousands of families and allow more patients to ring the bell.
